What is Tennis Elbow?

Tennis Elbow or “Lateral Epicondylitis” is a condition caused by continuous straightening of the elbow, wrist, and hand. It is caused by inflammation or “swelling” and small tears to the tendons located on the outside of the elbow.

This is a common condition in people that play racquet sports, clean houses, and tradesmen due to repetitive movements of swinging a tennis racquet, cleaning floor/countertops, and using tools.

Symptoms of Tennis Elbow

  • Pain in the elbow
  • Pain or weakness when gripping objects
  • Difficulty holding a coffee cup
  • Pain when turning a doorknob
  • Pain when using a screwdriver, wrench, or hammer
